forum
at the 1997 Midwest Modern Language Association conference (November
6th-8th
at the Ramada Congress Hotel, Chicago).  Papers or queries are invited
on
the topic:

>Papers are requested on the discourses of menopause as it is
examined in
texts, whether fictional, scientific, autobiographical, or other. 
Critical
studies of the rhetoric and imagery, underlying assumptions, and
anecdotal
narratives included in the discussion of menopause are welcome.

Subject: Re: call for papers
For those who might have missed a previous posting on this matter, I am
accepting proposals for a special session on science in contemporary
British literature for the 1997 MLA Convention in Toronto.  Since I
cannot
accept proposals after April 5, relatively brief (app. one page)
submissions would be fine.  I would also welcome proposals sent by
e-mail.
