Subject: CFP: Literature and the Environment

A session of this year's conference of the Pacific Ancient
and Modern Language Association (i.e., the western regional division
of the MLA) is entitled "Literature and the Environment."
Submit proposals of 500 words and a 50-word abstract no later
than April 1, 1998, to Rochelle Johnson, P.O. Box 750, Crestline, CA
92325-0750.
The conference dates are November 6-8, 1998.  The place is
Scripps College in Claremont, CA.
Presenters must be members of PAMLA by April 30, 1998.  For
