CALL FOR PAPERS

The International Society for the Study of Time will hold its eleventh
conference, July, 2001, at the Castello Di Gargonza, 90 Kms from
Florence,
Italy.  The occasion marks the 35th anniversary of the founding of the
Society, an interdisciplinary professional organization.

The theme of the conference is:

TIME AND UNCERTAINTY

The Society welcomes papers that address the topic of uncertainty from a
temporal perspective in scholarly areas such as the sciences, social
sciences, and the humanities.

Proposals for papers are herewith solicited.  Proposals should include a
preference for one of two presentation formats: pre-circulated papers to
be
summarized in ten minutes followed by a twenty-minute discussion period,
or,
papers to be read/presented in twenty minutes followed by a ten-minute
discussion period.  All papers must be presented in English.

Whereas all papers delivered at the conference will be considered for
inclusion in Volume XI of The Study of Time, papers that specifically
reflect the topic ?¨Time and Uncertainty?Æ will receive a higher
priority.

The 2001 conference will include poster sessions.  If you would like to
present a poster installation, please specify that preference in your
proposal.

Proposals should be approximately 300 words in length and submitted in
triplicate to the Executive Secretary (P.O. Box 436, Wynnewood, PA
19096,
USA) no later than July 15th, 2000.  Electronic submissions in an
appropriate format sent via email to ISST@Studyoftime.org by the given
deadline will also be acceptable.

The Society is seeking volunteers for session chairs, whose names will
be
included on the printed program.
