Subject: SLS Nominations: 2nd VP and Member-at-Large

Call for Nominations: Second Vice-President and Member-at-Large

Nominations, including self-nominations, for candidates for
member-at-large
to serve on the SLS Executive Board from Fall 2000 to Fall 2002 have
been
extended from the previous deadline of May 15th.

In addition, nominations and self-nominations for the position of 2nd
Vice
President of SLS are now open for submission. The 2nd VP serves a two
year term,
from Fall 2000 to Fall 2002, followed by two years terms as 1st VP and
then
President.

Names of potential candidates for BOTH positions should be emailed to
all
members of the Nominating Committee by August 1, 2000. The committee
members
(and their email addresses) this year are:

Stephen Weininger: stevejw@wpi.edu

Each candidate approved by the nominating committee will be asked to
submit an
election statement of 200 words or less. The statements will be posted
to a
website later this summer. A ballot, including the url for the statement
website, will be mailed to all SLS members with instructions for proper
submission in a timely fashion.
