Just a few midsummer reminders for Society for Literature and Science
members, which will only make sense if you have received the summer
DECODINGS (mailed in June):

****Please send your ballots for the recent election; I forgot to mark a
cutoff date, but I'll need to notify all of the outcome in early
September
as usual.  So mail those ballots by September 1.

****There have been remarkably few requests for travel subsidies to
SLS2001
in Buffalo.  Please email these by September 1.

****And don't forget that SLS also sponsors two essay prizes each year.

Hope everyone is having a good summer.  And let me know if DECODINGS has
gone missing.

I am on leave from Deakin University until 31 July 2001 and might not be
in a position to reply to your email until after that date. Students in
MEd units EXR780 and ECC703 should contact Geoff Shacklock  during my
